Termez

Termez is a historic city in southern Uzbekistan, located on the banks of the Amu Darya River, near the border with Afghanistan. It has a population of around 120,000–150,000 people. Termez is one of Uzbekistan’s oldest cities and is famous for its archaeological sites, history, and cultural significance.

History
Termez has a history of over 2,500 years. It was an important city on the Silk Road, connecting Central Asia with India, Persia, and China. Termez was influenced by many civilizations, including Persians, Greeks, Arabs, Mongols, and Timurids. Geography and Climate
Termez is located in the surrounding plains of the Amu Darya River. The city has a continental desert climate, with very hot summers reaching above 40°C (104°F) and cold winters. Its location near the river made it suitable for agriculture and settlement for centuries.
