Shahrisabz

Shahrisabz is a historic city in southern Uzbekistan, located about 90 km south of Samarkand. It has a population of around 100,000 people. Shahrisabz is famous for its historic monuments and its connection to Amir Timur (Tamerlane), the great Central Asian conqueror. The city is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
