Khiva

Khiva is a historic city in Uzbekistan, located in the western part of the country, in the Khorezm region. It is famous for its well-preserved old town, called Itchan Kala, which is surrounded by thick walls and filled with ancient buildings. Khiva is a popular tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

History
Khiva has a history of over 2,500 years and was an important center on the Silk Road. It served as the capital of the Khorezm region and was ruled by various empires, including the Persians, Mongols, and Khorezmshahs. The city is known for its rich Islamic culture and architecture, and many of its historic buildings have been preserved for centuries.

Geography and Climate
Khiva is located in the Kyzylkum Desert, near the Amu Darya River. The city has a desert climate, with very hot summers often exceeding 40°C (104°F) and cold winters.
